kay. So, here I am. 5 days after wrapping up the Altitude Design Summit 2013 and it feels like it was months ago. Whew! It's been a heck of a week trying to get back into the regular swing of things! If you were at Alt and are now back in the real world (you know... the one without glitter, stripes and polka dots all around you)... then you're probably nodding your heads right now going "Yeeeees! I'm beat!" I feel ya sister (or bro... for the handful of guys there...).
Anyway, I am now finally sitting down digesting all of the information given out at this amazing conference. So... let's get started!
Thursday - 9 am - Getting Past Zero
This is the panel I spoke on and I have to say... I was a tad panicked when I walked into this GIANT room...

All I kept thinking was "There's nooooo way this entire room will fill up!!" But, instead of reaching for the nearest paper bag and burying my head into it, I decided to lift up my lil' chin and smile! Ready for the task!

My entire panel and I were so excited to see the room fill up with eager to learn and friendly (and super cute too!!!) faces. We were ready to go!

We spoke on the topic of getting a bigger readership and growing your community. Our panel was titled "Getting Past Zero." We all worked on preparing an e-book of our topic and respective presentations for those of you who couldn't make it or those who just want a nice little refresher. You can find that by clicking here. Thanks to our panelist, Jessika, for designing the e-book and making it sooooo darned cute! I hope you get a lot out of it!
Our four sub-topics were:
- Maintaining Consistency (Me!)
- Being Yourself (Emily Frame from Small Fry)
- Growing Your Community (Jessika Hepburn from Oh My! Handmade Goodness)
- Networking (Mariah Danielsen from Oh, What Love)

Our audience was so lovely and cute and sweet. : ) They were also all great note takers! I saw some of them furiously taking notes!! There was a lot of info and I'm happy they found some value in what we had to share. Again... want the full blown notes? Check out the e-book! You can also view the Prezi presentation we used by clicking here.
Here's Emily giving her nuggets of wisdom about being yourself!! Yes! I can't stress that enough when it comes to blogging!! Just be you!
Hey! It's me! : )

Once we were done, we opened it to Q & A and were able to answer some great questions for everyone there. And then, this happened...

Our beautiful audience came up to meet us and trade business cards. It was amazing!!! I was just so happy to soak in all of the positive and radiant energy in that crowd. Just awesome.
Once 10:30 am hit... I was off to take a bit of a break. I reeeaaaallllly wanted to attend the Revenue Making panel with one of my favorite bloggers, Nicole Balch. But, I was so spent that I skipped it. But, there have been some great re-caps for that panel's presentation twittering around the Internet.
After lunch, I went over to see what the fuss was all about with speaker Jasmine Star. Plus, she was talking about something I'm super interested in ... Personal Branding. Here are some tips I picked up from this amazing woman...

All in all, what I learned from Jasmine is that in order to develop a personal brand you have to get personal. You must define who you are to yourself first and then present it to the world. Above all... do not let others define who you are.
Following Jasmine, I headed over to the Work, Life, Balance panel. Goodness knows I could use some mega advice. Working full time at a demanding job and being the mommy of a "just learning to walk" toddler, and moving to a new home AND blogging... life can get just a tad... overwhelming sometimes? Yes. So, I welcomed any advice these ladies could give me!
The panel was made up of Michelle Hunt of Twig Creative; Morgan Shanahan of The 818; Kirsten Grove of Simply Grove; and Christine Castro-Hughes of Darling Studio.
The main points I got out of this creative and very busy group of women were:

Although I guess I know I should do all of this, I never really do it. Especially the getting more sleep bit! So, it was refreshing to be reminded that it's okay to take time out to sleep, recharge and regroup before facing the world again!
Thursday night ended with the most gorgeous party I think I've ever been to. The Clue Party. The outfits were outta control as was the decor. Just breathtaking. Here's just a little sampling...

Whew! I just let out a big sigh! That was exhausting! Re-living the whole experience with you that is. Not the sigh. : )
I hope you enjoyed the first re-cap. Stay tuned for Friday's recap tomorrow!
Hugs,
Mina
